LAS VEGAS – MAY 1, 2006 – Tens of thousands of people joined hands to yell at a packed Freemont Street Experience in support of Mexican immigrants in the United States being recognized as citizens, Monday night, May 1, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nev. The evening rally was organized by Culinary Local 226 and some of Nevada’s largest casino operators in hopes workers would attend work and attend the Freemont rally instead of boycotting. The day’s boycott around the country was called “A Day Without Immigrants.” TIFFANY BROWN / LAS VEGAS SUN
